After publishing a novel, \u003ci\u003eThe Real Life Diary of a Boomtown Girl\u003c\/i\u003e, Breskin turned away from journalism and toward poetry, and by the mid-1990s had begun publishing poems in \u003ci\u003eThe New Yorker\u003c\/i\u003e, \u003ci\u003eThe Paris Review\u003c\/i\u003e, \u003ci\u003eParnassus\u003c\/i\u003e, \u003ci\u003eNew American Writing\u003c\/i\u003e, and \u003ci\u003eTriQuarterly\u003c\/i\u003e, among other periodicals. His first book of poetry, \u003ci\u003eFresh Kills\u003c\/i\u003e, was published in 1997, and his second, \u003ci\u003eEscape Velocity\u003c\/i\u003e, in 2004. His next work, \u003ci\u003eSupermodel\u003c\/i\u003e was a one-sentence epic poem, or novel-in-verse.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eBreskin has also worked as a record producer for the past thirty-five years and, in addition to Frisell and Cline, has collaborated with leading-edge musicians beginning with John Zorn, Ronald Shannon Jackson, Vernon Reid, and Joey Baron in the ’80s and early ’90s, and continuing with Mary Halvorson, Kris Davis, Craig Taborn, and Chris Lightcap in the current decade.
