He received his Doctoral degree from the University of Michigan and his PhD from Michigan State University. He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Certified Planners (FAICP) and a registered architect, and author of four books on historic preservation, city planning, Greek Revival architecture, and the Peace Corps.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cb\u003eTed J. Ligibel, PhD\u003c\/b\u003e, has been employed in the historic preservation field for over forty years as an activist, educator, and author. In his role as director of the Historic Preservation Program at Eastern Michigan University he has influenced countless preservation leaders. He has held national leadership roles as chair of the National Council for Preservation Education, as Ohio Advisor to the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and as chair of the Michigan State Historic Preservation Advisory Review Board.
