The married couple, Luis and Pepita, struggle to survive and protect their family during the Civil War while trying to stay together. Their children and grandchildren will be deeply affected by the physical and emotional wounds of the conflict and will try to navigate the post-war years while keeping their memory and identity intact. And, when the time comes, resisting the regime.

With his first novel in Spanish, Paco Boya offers us a moving story that combines a nostalgic and critical view of Spanish history with the emotional drama of the families who lived through those tumultuous years. About the Author

Francés Xavier "Paco" Boya Alòs (Lés, 23 de enero de 1960) es político y escritor. Desde octubre de 2020 es secretario general para el Reto Demográfico dentro del Ministerio para la Transición Ecológica y el Reto Demográfico. Anteriormente, ha sido síndico de Arán entre 2007 y 2011, así como entre 2019 y 2020. Además, ha ocupado otros cargos como senador en las Cortes Generales, diputado en el Parlamento de Cataluña, concejal de Lés y diputado provincial de Lérida.

Como escritor, Paco Boya ha cultivado el occitano aranés en distintos géneros literarios. Destaca su novela Presoèrs dera mar gelada, galardonada con el premio Les Talúries en 1998, la medalla Villa de Luchón (1998) y la medalla Stéphen Liègard (1999). También escribió la guía literaria Era Val d'Aran (1995), la colección de relatos L'alè del bosc (1997) y su último ensayo Ereus dera Tèrra (2019).

También ha trabajado con distintos medios de comunicación, tanto literarios como periodísticos.
