About the Author
Sirarpie Der Nersessian (1896–1989) was an Armenian art historian who specialized in Armenian and Byzantine studies. Der Nersessian was a Professor of Art and Archaeology at Harvard University and a senior fellow and deputy director at Dumbarton Oaks.
Robert W. Thomson was Mashtots Professor of Armenian Studies at Harvard University.
Annemarie Weyl Carr is Professor Emerita of Art History at Southern Methodist University.
